Tambu Muzenda

Founder and Executive Director

Tambu Muzenda is an international public health and social development leader and human rights advocate with over 25 years of experience advancing health equity, gender equality, social justice and community-led change across Africa and Canada.

A 2020 Desmond Tutu Fellow and 2010 Human Rights Advocates Program Fellow at Columbia University’s Institute for the Study of Human Rights, she brings together strategic leadership, storytelling, facilitation and lived experience to foster meaningful dialogue, strengthen community voices and inspire collective action.

As an African immigrant in Canada, Tambu draws on her personal and professional experiences to connect with communities navigating barriers to inclusion, belonging and equitable opportunities. She believes that communities are not simply recipients of solutions but creators of knowledge and drivers of change.

Through Naxiluva Global, she is building bridges among African, Black and diaspora communities and partners worldwide, fostering reciprocal learning across cultures, including Anglophone and Francophone communities. Her vision is to connect people, share what works and strengthen community-led approaches that advance health, wellbeing and social welfare.

Build on What Works. Adapt with Purpose. Amplify Together.
